Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pengawasan izin usaha pembangunan homestay di kawasan wisata Lembah Harau, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Teori yang digunakan berasal dari Sururama dan Amalia, yang merupakan standar penting dalam pengukuran pengawasan. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pemilihan informan dilakukan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan beberapa teknik, termasuk observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kendala dalam pengawasan izin usaha pembangunan homestay di kawasan Lembah Harau. Kendala tersebut antara lain adalah keterbatasan anggaran dan kurangnya dukungan dari pemilik homestay.
